The Concept of Nanotechnology In-Depth and Evaluation

TechnologyThe Concept of Nanotechnology In-Depth and Evaluation

According to a report published by CeNSE (Centre for Nano Science and Engineering), India published over 23,000 papers in Nanoscience by the end of 2013.

This was made possible because of the initiative taken by the Indian Government by starting a Nano Mission in May 2007.

The Department of Science and Technology were further made available with funding of Rs.1,000 crore for this 5-year research venture.

After the publication of these research papers exploring the intricacies of nanotechnology in India and associated concepts, the Union Cabinet further approved the continuation of the research program in its phase two.

For this, funding of Rs.650 crore was allocated to the respective department.

The objectives of this mission were –

  • Promoting the need to research on nanotechnology by providing scientists with funding.
  • Establishment in infrastructure development for nanotechnology in India.
  • To initiate technology development programs.
  • International collaborations.

In this regard, the mission proved to be successful as India bagged 3rd position in the world concerning publication in Nanotechnology and its concept.

What is nanotechnology?

It is the science of studying properties and characteristics of small particles that have a size below 100 nm (nanometres).

Hence, nanomaterials are developed using these nanoparticles, which have implementations in various fields.

Scientists have to deal with Nanoparticles in regard to modelling, measuring, imaging, and manipulation to utilise it in a beneficial way.

Subsequently, the emergence of nanotechnology in India encompasses its concept, applications, benefits, and future prospect.

Applications of nanotechnology in India

  • Healthcare and medicine.
  • Industry applications such as construction materials, nano-wires, nano-rods, military goods, etc.
  • The textile industry and sports equipment.
  • Food processing units utilise the concept of nanotechnology.
  • Beauty and makeup industry in the manufacture of cosmetics, lipstick, sunscreens, etc.
  • Environmental applications such as clean-up of pollutants from the environment.
  • Dentistry.
  • Other biomedical applications.

While nanotechnology has implementations in a wider section of products and industry, this has especially benefitted the healthcare industry most with added benefits.

Implementation of nanotechnology in healthcare

  • Development of Nanomedicines can be utilised for targeted drug delivery.
  • Nanotechnology-based chemotherapy in the treatment of chronic diseases like cancer.
  • Treatment of cardiac diseases.
  • Identification of microorganisms.

Besides, the healthcare industry can utilise nanotechnology in India and produce better results in the treatment of chronic disease, in obtaining precise pathology reports, in drug composition, diagnosis of a disease, etc.

Benefits of nanotechnology in healthcare

Implementation of nanotechnology has further made sure that the time is taken to perform blood tests, and other such tests are reduced; hence, the number of samples required for a particular test to be carried out is also decreased.

Medical professionals utilising this technology can easily and quickly detect the disease and cause of symptoms at an earlier stage.

Also, technology brings cost-effective results, making it desirable by medical professionals. Hence, the need to continue medical education for healthcare professionals is at its peak as they continually have to update themselves on these advancements to be able to serve the industry and patients best.

In today’s time, medical professionals have options that ease their medical practice substantially with tools like Lybrate for doctors. They can grow their medical practice with Lybrate and venture new heights in medical practice utilising the emerging concept of nanotechnology.

Medical professionals can study more about the concept and implement them in the diagnosis and treatment of several diseases. However, that might require funds so that they acquire all information on the concept and implement the technology in their medical workspace.

In this regard, acquiring a business loan for doctors can be a suitable option for working professionals. They can acquire such advances from any reputed financial institution, like Bajaj Finserv.

The company further simplifies the loan application procedure for individuals with their pre-approved offers on loans. These offers are available on multiple financial products such as business loans, personal loans, home loans, along with others.

Sustainable delivery systems through nanotechnology

It is a part of nanotechnology that aims to develop nanoparticles without hampering the nature or having the least environmental impacts.

Eco-friendly and safe nanostructure are developed and utilised in the process to ensure there is no adverse effect on human health.

Nanotechnology in India is still emerging even with its wide implementation in various sectors and substantial benefits serving the industry.

Medical professionals have a significant scope of gaining medical proficiency with the adaptation of nanotechnology in the coming days.
